  • Run Directly From Your Batteries Instead of Noisy Generators
  • Product Water Quantity Unaffected By Seawater Temperature

Spectra Watermachines™ offer a range of highly efficient DC and AC watermakers producing between 24 and 153 litres of fresh water an hour. Based around the revolutionary composite Spectra High Pressure Pump, Spectra Watermachines™ offer the flexibility to produce practical quantities of water without the need of an AC generator. All models are offered with the MPC-3000 automatic controller to further simplify the operation of your onboard water making facility. One touch of the button will set the watermaker in motion and produce the desired amount of water before automatically fresh water flushing the system and switching off.

The newest addition to the Spectra Watermachine™ range is the revolutionary Z-Brane™ protection system. This system when fitted to any Spectra Watermachine™ provides the worlds first truly maintenance free watermaker system. The Z-Brane™ systems means you no longer need to put your watermaker into storage with messy chemicals or regularly flush the system with cleaning chemicals to overcome the build up of bio-film and organisims.

The Spectra Watermachine is the result of a remarkable technology known as the "Clark" High Pressure Pump. While reverse osmosis watermakers have been used aboard ships and yachts for many years, not until the inception of the Spectra system was it possible to make water in an energy efficient, quiet and ultra-reliable manner. To provide perspective, a conventional AC watermaker requires 150-watt hours per gallon, and the most energy efficient low voltage 12-volt or 24-volt machines require 36-watt hours per gallon. The Spectra watermaker requires only 13 watt-hours per gallon, just 33% of the energy required by the best competitive technology. As a result of this one design feature, Spectra brand recognition was built quickly with our first modular products targeted to the cruising sailor who values low DC power consumption, quiet operation, reliability, ease of operation and maintenance, and quality global field service and support.

Reverse osmosis technology has been in use for years to desalinate water in marine and land based applications. It is the dominant technology for desalinization. Existing technologies use conventional high-pressure pumps, which require large amounts of energy as well as intensive maintenance. Spectra's Clark pump is a hydraulic design Spectra has been using for more than 10 years to make water efficiently and reliably. The "Clark" High Pressure Pump's unique characteristic is what differentiates Spectra Watermakers from all others. Because of this highly energy-efficient and scalable hydraulic technology, Spectra systems are unique in their ability to operate on low voltage direct current, making them ideal for many solar or wind-driven applications. A critical point to understand is that the "Clark" High Pressure Pump is versatile enough to be used in systems ranging from 150 gallons per day (GPD,) up to 1000 GPD. Another unique feature of the Spectra system is that the product water output volume does not vary with water temperature changes.
